📍Crawford Notch, NH

⸻
🚙 Scenic Route
Welcome to the White Mountains! 🏔️ The views kick in as soon as you hop on I-93 and just keep delivering. Laughter also kicked in early—Bre had a little voice dictation mishap that kept us giggling 😜
⸻
🛑 Pit Stops
Danbury Country Store
You never know what you’ll find here—but you can usually count on a clean bathroom (🤞still true!) and friendly folks behind the counter. We didn’t score any GF/VG goodies this time, but we’ll definitely stop again.
⛽ Gas Station Stop -Twin Mountain Valero
📍This spot has everything before the wilderness takes over: gas, bathrooms, hiking/camping gear… even slingshots if you’re feeling spicy 😆

🅿️ Trail Details
• Parking: Two lots
• Lower lot = bigger, connects to Frankenstein Cliff Trail
• Upper lot = smaller, by the railroad tracks (we parked here)
• Restrooms: 🌲 Nature-style
• Trail Markers: Blue & yellow (though sometimes it felt more
“choose your own adventure”)
• AllTrails Link:
Arethusa Falls & Frankenstein Cliff Loop
• Time: 4:45 for us (with photo ops, snack breaks, and lots of nature staring)
📱 Pro Tip: Download the trail map on AllTrails—the cliff trail in particular has sparse markings and a confusing descent.

🥾 The Hike
Start by crossing the train tracks and taking the trail to the left for a counter-clockwise loop—this gives you the best approach to the falls!
First up: Bemis and Coliseum Falls Trail, which follows a beautiful brook with stunning rock formations. 🪨💦
Then comes the showstopper:
🎉 Arethusa Falls—the tallest waterfall in NH and hands-down the most gorgeous we’ve seen so far! VT’s tallest doesn’t even compare. NH takes the crown this time. 👑
The climb to Frankenstein Cliff finally works your legs giving that booty a workout 🍑 and thins the chatter—this is the elevation you came for. We walked through an area recently cleared by forest fire, which added some surprise ridge-line views. 🔥🌄

From the cliff, you’re rewarded with views of the Southern Whites, including Mt. Garfield in the distance. 100% worth the loop!
While enjoying the view we met some awesome folks doing leadership training for Aloha Foundation in VT—cool vibes, trail games, and total aloha spirit. 🤙
⚠️ Descent Warning: Bring poles! The footing on Frankenstein Cliff Trail is loose—rocks or dirt, it doesn’t matter. The markings get confusing here too. We popped out under a railroad bridge and landed at the bottom lot, so… surprise! One more uphill walk to the car. Booty Bonus! 😅🍑
🎉 Bonus trail partner: Jesse joined us for this one—he brought great conversations and wasn’t afraid to be a photo prop! 🙏 📸 🔥

⸻
🌟 Feature Highlight and special shoutout~
💦 Arethusa Falls—hands-down the most beautiful waterfall we’ve encountered. Tallest in NH and a complete show-off in the best way.
