📍Keene, NH
Springtime hits differently in New England. Up north, the trails are a sloppy, melting mess—sometimes even dangerous. So, what do we do? We pivot to what Leaks from the Peaks… WATERFALLS!
⸻
The Drive 🚗
If you’re already in the Keene area or not too far, this one’s okay. But if you’re coming from a distance, it’s not worth the drive… EXCEPT for the food. But hold that thought—we’ll get there.
Also, Keene has a lot of roundabouts. So, if you’re feeling indecisive, you could just drive in circles for a bit. 🚗💨
⸻
Parking & Logistics 🅿️
📍 Park at Washington St. Ext. Just don’t block the gate.
🚻 No restrooms. And it’s a busy area, so… you do the math.

The Hike – 5/10 ⭐
⏳ Time: ~45 minutes round trip. If you’re short on time or adulting got in the way, this one works. The trail is easy and accessible, with the only real “climb” being the short but fun scramble down the bank to get up close to the waterfall (which is definitely the best part!).

🥾 The Trek: It’s basically a point A to point B walk on an old paved road. There’s still a lot of ice, so spikes are a must!
Not much to see, except for dodging lots of dog poop. Clearly, this is a prime exercise spot for local puppers. 🐶💩
The real adventure? Climbing down to the falls. We did stop along the way, because, well… when life throws you a hole, sometimes you just get in. 🤷♀️ A new meaning to postholing? Maybe.

📍 More Waterfalls? This one’s listed in New England Waterfalls by Greg Parsons & Kate B. Watson if you want to see what else is out there. Spoiler: There are better falls, we assure you. We tried to hit another one nearby, but the snow hadn’t melted enough. Stay tuned for that!

⸻
The Waterfall – 7/10 ⭐
💦 When it’s flowing, it’s actually pretty nice! We climbed down the bank to get a closer look, which made the trip more worth it. If you’re here when the water’s moving, it’s a solid little stop. Otherwise? Meh.

Post-Hike Eats – 10/10 ⭐
🔥 Guerrilla Grill – THESE BROTHERS KNOW THEIR BBQ. 🔥
Right off the bat, the staff was super friendly from start to finish. We even got to chat with Adam, one of the owners—an obvious foodie, a guy who says “y’all,” and a fellow hiking fan. What’s not to love?

KK’s Order – Brisket & Slaw 🥩🥗
✅ The Brisket is on point. (And she fell in love with brisket in Texas, so she knows what’s up.)
✅ The slaw? You won’t regret ordering it.
✅ Shoutout to our server, Abby, for explaining the portion sizes. Otherwise, half of Bre’s fries would’ve mysteriously disappeared.
💡 Chef’s Tip: Adam told us the brisket is served with one lean cut and one fatty cut, unless you request otherwise. Pro move!

Bre’s Order – Mad Cow Wrap & Sweet Potato Fries 🌯🍠
🔥 Brisket + red pepper jelly, cream cheese, and potato sticks = FLAVOR BOMB.
🔥 The sweet potato fries? Absolute perfection.

The Drinks- Sweet Tea 🍹
💯 It’s PERFECT. Just the right amount of sweetness—flavorful, but not a one-way ticket to diabetes.

Final Verdict 🎤
🥾 The Hike? Meh. 5/10. If you’re in the area, sure, why not. But we wouldn’t go out of our way.
💦 The Waterfall? Decent when it’s flowing. 7/10. The scramble down to it was the best part!

🍖 The Food? 🔥🔥🔥 10/10. If you’re anywhere near Keene, GO HERE. You won’t regret it.
So, would we go back? Not for the hike. But for that brisket? IN A HEARTBEAT.

Stay hungry, stay adventurous, and stay tuned! ⏳🥾🍽️
